Our 60th Reunion Recap

The Main Event: Saturday, September 16, 2023
Believe it or not, it has been over 60 years since our class graduated from Winona High. That's definitely worth celebrating, and we had a healthy turnout of 72 for our main reunion event on Saturday night at the Winona Elks Club. That included 42 classmates plus their spouses and friends.

The festivities began at 3:00 p.m. with time to mingle and reminisce in the large hall. With ready access to drinks in the adjoining bar and a delicious buffet dinner, the reunion team came through yet again. Desserts were generously provided thanks to our classmate, Virginia Holty, who wasn't able to make it in person, but was there in spirit (and calories!). A video put together by John Milton (WHS class of 1962) played throughout, and photo collages lined a wall.

Our Friday night warmup event

On Friday, September 15, 2023, an enthusiastic group met for a happy hour at the Veterans Hall on Sarnia Street, warming up for the main event. The smaller size of this group made for more relaxed check-ins, lots of shared memories, and some good laughs. Here are a few shots of the gathering. See anyone you recognize?

Many thanks to our reunion team!

Our reunion committee deserves great credit for putting this together for all of us. Thank you so much for your commitment to our class over these 60 years. It means a lot to keep these early connections open.
The team includes:
  • Al Paffrath
  • Betsey Campbell Woodward
  • Calmer Wood
  • Carol Bell Knox
  • Diane Hanson Larson
  • Jerry Dalleska

Thanks also to other classmates who chipped in with time, money, and in-kind gifts to make this event happen.

Our 55th class reunion - in photos (and a few words...)

On Saturday, July 21, 2018, eighty-plus classmates and spouses joined together for a happy hour and buffet dinner at the American Legion Hall & Veterans Center on Sarnia Street in Winona. Our wise reunion committee recognized that what we enjoy most at this point is having time to re-connect, catch up, and share memories, so the program was light. Betsey (Campbell) Woodward welcomed us and thanked everyone who came and worked on the gathering. The committee surveyed attendees about whether they'd like to have either a 75th birthday party or a 60th reunion. Responses were YES on both counts. Conversation flowed. We enjoyed some delicious food and drink. We took a group picture - and a lot more casual shots, too. Calmer Wood showed off his restored Ford truck. Here are some photos of the evening - mostly quite informal, but including a large group shot of classmates.

Many thanks to the reunion committee for yet another successful gathering!
